Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) April 9, 2010
Making beautiful use of the iPad’s large high-resolution screen, “3D Storybook – The Wrong Side of the Bed in 3D!” from See Here Studios LLC features lively full-color painted illustrations viewable in both eye-popping 3D (with red/cyan 3D glasses) and standard 2D. The artwork, showcased in the Society of Illustrators “Very Best of Children’s Book Illustration,” underwent a painstaking 3D conversion process executed by Ray Zone, the leading 3D expert in the United States. The resulting 3D anaglyph illustrations bring to life the upside-down story of a little boy who wakes up on the wrong side of the bed.
What happens when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? You see the world in a different light or, in little Mott Turner’s case, from the ceiling! We’ve all had days when we felt like we’d gotten up on “the wrong side of the bed”. Even children can relate to the feeling. So imagine how they can identify with little Mott, who wakes confused and irritable one morning, to find himself in one upside-down misadventure after another, until finally he is right side up and once again, level-headed. All kids have their off days, and laughing through this silly scenario is a humorous way to cope with those feelings.
The app features twenty-four gorgeous full color spreads, all in both 3D and 2D. Users can easily order 3D glasses from within the app. The storybook includes audio options to “Read To Me,” with the author reading the book and an original musical score, or “Read Myself” to turn off the audio when parents or children would like to read at their own pace. The 2D book can also be turned upside down to see the story in a different amusing perspective.
“The Wrong Side of the Bed” author/illustrator Wallace E. Keller has illustrated over 20 children’s books for Scholastic, Harcourt, Rizzoli International, McGraw-Hill and Houghton Mifflin. A graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, his illustrations have appeared in The New York Times Book Review, Business Week, Ms. and Psychology Today. His animation designs have been featured in Nickelodeon’s “Dora the Explorer” and McDonald’s “What’s On Your Plate” animated PSA series. He is a co-founder and creative director at See Here Studios LLC.
