3-D Underwater Graphics, LLC Announces 3M to Create Specialty Adhesive for Swimming Pools

Geoff Ficke, President of Duquesa Marketing, Inc., managing consultants for the 3-D Underwater Graphics project, announced today that 3M has undertaken development of a specialty adhesive that will provide solid underwater adhesion for plastics. 3-D Underwater Graphics owns a patented process for viewing stylized poster art utilizing 3-D glasses.
Mr. Ficke said, “We have tested available compounds and they were satisfactory. However, the underwater art that will embellish the walls of swimming pounds will be exposed to added abuse from swimmers, UV rays and pool chemicals. We want an adhesion that will absolutely last through a full seasons use”.
Duquesa Marketing has hired Harrington Product Development, Cincinnati, to assist 3-D Underwater Graphics with technical aspects of product engineering. Harrington has collaborated with 3M in the past in creating specialty glues and adhesives necessary for unusual applications.
Jeff Kaehr, owner of 3-D Underwater Graphics said, “The progress made to date has been amazing. Technical issues have always been compounded by the confluence of pool wall variety: plastic, underwater adhesion, and chemicals. That is a difficult mix, and the plastic posters must be easily removable. Adding 3M to the team is great news.”
3-D Underwater Graphics owns patents that cover placement and viewing of stylized underwater art utilizing 3-d glasses. The Company is developing multiple series of plastic posters to add exciting art and color to swimming pools.
